Small Business Jobs Western New York is a hyper-local job board operated by Courtney Howard Enterprises LLC. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it. If you have any questions, email us at hello@smallbusinessjobswny.com.
2. Information we collect
Job poster accounts
When you create an account to post a listing, we collect your email address and a password. Your password is stored securely. We never have access to your password in plain text.
Listing content
When you submit a listing, we store the information you provide: the job or project details, your business name and description, and your preferred contact method for applicants.
Job seeker email addresses
If you sign up for the weekly digest or a search alert, we collect your email address. We use it only to send you the emails you signed up for. We do not collect any other information from job seekers.
Listing reports
If you submit a report about a listing, we store the reason, any notes you provide, and your email address if you choose to include it.
3. Payment information
We never see, store, or have access to your payment card details. All payments are processed directly by Stripe, a secure third-party payment processor. The only payment information we store is a reference to confirm that a payment was made. You can read Stripe's privacy policy at stripe.com/privacy.
4. How we use your information
- To operate your job poster account and publish your listings
- To send you transactional emails related to your listings: confirmation, renewal reminders, and similar
- To send job seekers the weekly digest and search alerts they signed up for
- To review listing reports and take appropriate action
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond what is described here.
5. We never sell or share your data
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing or any other purpose. Your email address is yours. We will never give it to anyone else.
6. Data retention and deletion
Job seeker email addresses are deleted from our database when you unsubscribe from the digest or cancel a search alert. Unverified signups that are not confirmed within 48 hours are automatically deleted.
Job poster account data is retained while your account is active. If you would like your account and associated data deleted, contact us at hello@smallbusinessjobswny.com.
7. Security
We use industry-standard security practices to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and secure session management. Our database is hosted on Supabase, which maintains its own security certifications and practices.
8. Cookies and tracking
We use secure HTTP-only cookies to manage login sessions for job poster accounts. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when it was last updated. Continued use of the site after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
